Invoking Frequencies

Everything is energy – you’ve heard that before. The world is vibrating as a beautiful and intermeshed kaleidoscope of different frequencies, sometimes in harmony, sometimes clashing heads.

Quantum physics tells us that nothing is solid, everything is energy. And Albert Einstein says that “energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another”.

In our perceptions of the eyes, ears and other senses, we forget that. Our nervous systems are entrained to only see a certain reality. The truth is that the reality you perceive can be different from another person's. It was particularly evident with that damn blue & black dress (white and gold!). If you don’t know what I’m talking about, google it. It drove me insane for days! So, I’m not going to go into that here...

And like our perceptions of the world – we also have perceptions of ourselves. We may not be conscious of it, but we have ideas, concepts and definitions of ourselves in the world. If you want to think a little bit detached about it, then you can think of them as frequencies that you associate with yourself.

We are always working with frequency. I couldn’t work out why crowds of people want to attend concerts, buy the latest music, and get caught up going to their fav team’s sports games. Until I realised that it was a type of frequency they wanted to experience. It’s no different to my latest healing/intuition workshop, Capoeira event, African drum and dance event. Everyone is enjoying the type of frequency they love (or even think they love).

Even certain people we are attracted to invoke a frequency we like to experience with them.

Without consciously realising, we desire to obtain the highest frequency we have an awareness of. Whether via a concert, drugs, new relationship, holiday, healing/coaching session, etc. All experiences bring us to a level of frequency we either like, hate or feel neutral about.

And some don’t even try. In face of a problem or obstacle, they get stuck in the frequency they operate at. They have forgotten the reality that we are beings who can morph vibrations. Even instantly. This is the mythology of the shape-shifter. In stories, you hear of people turning into animals or stealing identities. Maybe they aren’t stories – but that is a skill I have yet to figure out.

However... shape-shifting frequencies of my reality – I can do that. Changing my emotional state – creating a different experience in myself and with others – opening my mind and flow to new ways of making thing happen. Being an alchemist of your inner and local reality – it’s not as difficult as it seems.

Sounds great! The down side is that we habitually get lost in the fog of believing that we are stuck in one frequency. I definitely do. When we are depressed, we believe we are powerless to shift out of it – it just happens to us. When we are fearful, we believe we need to get away (or even get paralysed into not taking any action, just freeze). When we are angry, we believe we need to defend/attack.

And we get stuck on the idea that we are but one ‘identity’ (a conglomerate of particular frequencies). For example, I am “Leah” and that means that I am “X”, but not “Y” (interject any type of descriptors you like).

Our thoughts about ourselves are only the tip of the iceberg. There are so many more frequencies we associate with (or not) in our unconscious minds. In fact, in the period of your whole life, you have possibly experienced almost every single frequency at least once. But whether you are conscious of it or not, is dependent on your ego’s (identity’s) allowable definition of yourself.

Some people say that you are “Y” (insert any definition – brave, shameless, inspiring, thoughtless, smart, stupid, etc) – and your ego mind immediately compares that definition with what you see as ‘you’. Some of you might even be thinking – “I don’t like the word ego” because it reminds you of a type of frequency, and so distract yourself from the message that you could really be receiving in this moment.

It actually doesn’t matter whether those definitions (or frequencies you associate with) are good or bad or neutral. To the ego-mind, whether function or dysfunctional, it’s all about the frequencies it feels comfortable with accepting and associating with. And it will do what it takes to defend its position.

You tell someone that they have the ability to put themselves out there and shine in the world and they will defend their position that they aren’t able to cope and they don’t know how. You point out to someone that they were partially to blame for an argument or situation, and they will insist that they are the victim.

You even see some who are compelled to protect others with frequencies they relate in themselves and go against those who oppose those frequencies.

And when our association with those definitions are threatened – all sorts of levels of hell break lose. Hurt. Denial. Anger. Fear. False happiness. Excitement. Anything to avoid sitting in and being identified with what we don’t normally associate in ourselves.

It can all seem rather self centred.

And that’s what the ego (identity) is all about. I am these definition and I am not these others.

But do you ever ask yourself: why must these definitions and frequencies of yourself be so concrete? Why do you defend them, and recreate them? Do they really serve you?

Here’s the thing – stubbornly holding onto these definitions will give you a sense of certainty.

But it won’t give you freedom.

For example, this is one of the secrets to how intuition works. The ability to shift into another person’s frequency, to not be held onto a frequency of how you define yourself. To allow yourself to venture out of your identity-bound frequencies. To not block out the information that is readily available to you and be willing.

The more you break away from the idea that you are this definition and not that – the stronger your ability to intuit other’s frequency and definitions.

It no longer becomes about I am “X” and I am not “Y” – but instead, I am open to experience X, Y and Z, and also A, B & C.

And even more importantly, shifting frequencies can change not only your outlook in life but also the way you create in life. People are so caught up in needing to work on themselves, but what they are really looking for is a shift in their frequency. Immediately, the thought springs to mind – how do I do that? I am not “Y”, so how to shift from X to Y?

As if they can’t just change.

So, then people believe they need to go get healing, clear programs, learn more, get more advice, figure it out, get more prepared and feel ready. They can’t just morph out of it.

Don’t get confused by what I’m saying or apply a definition to it. Don’t just try to do the opposite. I’m not saying – don’t go to a healer, don’t go to another learning program/workshop, don’t do your research or undergo proper preparations. I’m saying, don’t do it from a space of resolving the tension of the definitions you associate with.

Because it all really comes back to resolving tension you hold onto about yourself, but don't like to be with when in your face.

The frequencies that no longer serve.

What do you NEED to do about it? What do you want to do to avoid the discomfort – even the pain & suffering it generates?

And while you are figuring that out, consciously or unconsciously, how many opportunities are passing you by? Life goes by and all you are doing is avoiding tension and ultimately, avoiding yourself.

Here is one little secret with shifting your frequency. It might also seem counter-intuitive (which is why a lot of people don’t do it), but it works powerfully.

When you are in your funk (insert – feeling inadequate, unlovable, outcast, unable to cope, confused, powerless, attacked, “X”, “Y”, etc) – whatever inner experiences you feel that makes you want to “do” something about it or to avoid it... Just don’t.

And sit with it.

Rather than going into your ego-mind and:- figuring it out, complaining and colluding, rushing ahead panicking that you don’t have the time/money/resources, getting needy with others, telling yourself you don't like this – just stop. And sit with it.

Face it. Fully. Wholly. Completely present to the tension.

Be willing to go there. Be with it.

Just keep sitting with it, making a resolve in yourself not to resolve it.

And just see what happens.
