There are some hot topics out there, where the opposing parties remain in a stand-off about (also referred to as gridlock).
Vaccinations, climate change, alternative health, for example.
And the topics lead to quite heated debates, sometimes bordering on (or not) being outright rude. What leads some people to get abusive because someone has a differing opinion? That’s another discussion for another time.
The irony of the heated debates, is that both parties are ultimately wanting the same thing, but have a different method/focus/value about it:
- Vaccinations – life of the child/individual in regard to infectious disease (through receiving vs by avoiding vaccinations)
- Climate change – want the status quo to remain (environment vs economy & progress)
- Alternative health – a system/process to improve health and health symptoms (through holistic health vs medical route)
Or another way to frame it, to those certain individuals, one must be eradicated for the other to fully exist.
Or we can create a new structure where the stand-off ceases to exist or hold any power anymore.
Some might think that can only occur by eradicating one side – but that’s a highly UN-creative point of view.
We might think we’ve heavily evolved over the century (or even centuries), but as a collective, we still have an eradication mind-set. This is founded on powerlessness and a deep insecurity that our desires/values can’t exist.
Vaccinations (or anti-vaccination) are founded on something being able to harm us, and that we must avoid and boost our shield from that thing at all costs. While it may not be ideal to have that infectious agent or contaminant pass our defences, the robustness of our body to live, if we will it to be so, can be a marvellous thing to witness.
There is also a potential that this infectious agent or contaminant can be in symbiosis with us in some form (for example, some heavy metals replace missing minerals and take over the role, even though of a lesser quality – like lead does with calcium in the bones. The exposure to measles means lifelong immunity, which is transferred to children when breastfeeding, that a vaccination cannot protect in the same way).
Climate change (or anti-climate change) assumes that our survival is founded on things staying purely as themselves and that we have some control over that. But nothing stays as themselves and we inherently have no real control.
The earth will do what it does and perhaps we are being presumptuous fools for assuming we have any real control over her or Nature. The economy will crash when the cycles come to crash, like the rise & fall of the debt cycle we are in – we can blame a virus & the government response all we want. We can try our best to balance these delicate times with reserve bank interest rates and stimulating the economy, but sometime structures cannot be revived any longer… and sometimes we can make its heartbeat continue for just that little bit more time.
Alternative health vs medical system assumes there is only one way to health via practitioner or authority, and that we can’t trust in ourselves to find the answer or have someone aid in the answer we see. The opposing view points seems to indicate that both sides can’t be right – when in fact, what if almost all sides are correct in the right perspective?
The wisdom then comes in gaining a truer and more workable perspective, rather than being driven by beliefs which are fabricated in our mind or the minds of those who influenced us.
Dropping theories and allowing life experience to show the way.
A new model
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
―Buckminster Fuller
Buckminster Fuller said it best.
And the best example of this that I’ve seen is Bitcoin.
Bitcoin exists as an alternative to the fiat money systems under government rule. What is amazing about it is that it can exist as an entity in itself, without eradicating (at least not directly) the current currency systems, and even allows interaction with the current systems without losing structural integrity.
The existence of this model, in itself, has inspired hundreds of other cryptocurrencies to form – creating their own ecosystems with varying structural integrity.
It doesn’t exist with the thought that it can’t exist while the current or other competing currencies exist. In fact, it allows interfaces with it. It’s an entity of itself that loses no power or progress or self-sustainability. No government law can take it away fully, because its structure was created outside the current currency laws.
I’m not going to propose any new models or structures for vaccination or climate change. These are outside my Soul calling and not particularly my zone of genius, even though they have fallen into my zone of interest at some key points in my life. They still suck me in on occasion!
My passion is health. And discovering robust systems and processes to improve health symptoms and experiences of individuals.
I see holes in the medical system and also in the holistic health system.
I may be a healer who’s work leans towards the holistic methods, but I see the holes in that system very clearly because I am in it and willing to see it, without taking away that I also see the brilliance of its greater potential.
The more I dig and discover, the more I see that our foundational understanding of health is severely limited. This is the real problem, not in most of the processes themselves.
I have yet to see a health model that doesn’t hold some limitation – but this is not a failing of the modality itself and its potential, but the beliefs that the holders have/had placed upon it. And the limitations that practitioners use it with.
Because our ideas and concepts of health are limited. And fragmented.
People band in their belief systems and don’t allow an opposing view to exist. Or have that opposing view urge them to grow & evolve and shape a new working model that may reflect a better reality.
The experience gained by a healer over their lifetime is generally lost on death, rather than passed down through the generations. It’s in the experience that may not work in our favour where we learn (if we so choose to see the current reality, rather than squash it far down so as not to affect the ideals and concepts held tightly). But without giving it specificity in a model, it’s hard for others to reflect for themselves.
And without testing the model, it just stays a theory of the mind.
A new model for holistic healing
Bitcoin started with a white paper and was originally implemented by a pseudonym Santoshi Nakamoto (person or persons). The first blockchain for this cryptocurrency and its first years in implementation was held together by a small and dedicated community, who held a passion & believed in the values that the vision of Bitcoin represented.
In that time, many bugs were ironed out, until some 10 years later where the rest of the world started to become aware of its real potential. Today, it remains the most stable of the cryptocurrency (with an understanding of the general instability of cryptos) with the recent booms pulling it back into the spotlight (likely influenced by a combination of Covid-19, the halving and the dramatic US presidential elections of Trump vs Biden).
Likewise, I hold a model for the holistic healing industry (when I get my ass in gear, that is). Whether this model will be as effective and ingenious as Bitcoin, only time will tell. But Bitcoin didn’t work just because it was an amazing idea with a concept that could hold legs. It has integrity that many other models that tried to copy its success didn’t, because of the ‘ironing out’ period.
In this period, the willingness to see the faults in the system – to look at reality and work out new ways to evolve and reiterate – that was the real ingenuity of Bitcoin.
My vision for the holistic healing industry is – to use a model that bands all modalities together without losing their uniqueness and diversity, and works in a client-centric perspective that enriches the client’s health (usually through a multi perspective approach).
Instead of a client looking only at their health from a modality or single-root cause perspective, the opening of awareness to a multi-root cause & sub-root cause approach, as well as a building of health foundations – will optimise the client’s chances for health, vitality & well-being.
This does not exclude the medical system yet, because that falls out of my scope. But, it has potential draw on the benefits of medical system and its technology because the onus falls back on the rights of the client to decide. All systems are held in a collaborative model that benefits the client in a multi-faceted approach.
Mine is not the first model to look from these perspectives.
However, it is the first model that aims to unite all the multitude of modalities in the holistic healing industry in a way that goes beyond insurance & association – and finds opportunities for cross-linking & networking… all while avoiding the hierarchal approach that needs to control all those under the same domain.
And the only way to transcend the hierarchal domain is to include intuitive synergy. This is an innovative approach that draws from collective wisdom, with each person being a conduit that holds a thread to the greater whole. It is something that can only be experienced. By trying to explain the process here, I will bastardise its sacredness.
It does require extremely self-aware individuals, who can make the greater vision more important that the wounding that arises when interfacing in a community with diverse perspectives.
Perhaps, without realising it, Santoshi Nakamoto used intuitive synergy in the building of Bitcoin. I personally am convinced that it was more than a single person, as the white paper reads as if it was written and massaged by a group of authors, or at least heavily edited by many. Even if Santoshi was a single person/entity, the community brought their flavour to make it into the robust entity as it exists today.
It takes a village to raise a child, they say.
It takes a dedicated & synergistic community to build a new model/system that serves the greater good and evolution of humanity. Only those who hold a value and humbleness of dedicating to something far greater than ourselves, can bring it through to a reality.
Only when the holistic healing industry consolidates, can the consolidation with the medical system truly be potentiated.
