Why is that?
Because, simply, you are attached and invested in the outcome. On top of that, the whole perception of life and death is triggered, especially the egoic need to ‘survive’. Egoic meaning our belief in our own limitedness & limitations.
And for some with serious health issues, the life/death scenario is very much a reality.
Intuition isn’t about seriousness or about getting things right (no matter how much we make it out to be that)… but instead our innate connection to everything and all that is. True intuition allows and restores our innate connection to life and vitality!
I wanted to introduce 3 basic intuitive decision-making techniques – but know that there’s many more techniques. Some require more training to develop the skills, however all connect back to the same aspect within us.
The intuitive aspect, that is.
Before we get into the techniques, here is a key tip to take on board:
Some ways you can do this is:
- Keep it playful – I know this doesn’t make sense, but that is the whole point of intuition
- Wait for neutralisation or process through any emotional investment before looking to access your intuition.
Logic & Intuition
Another thing I want to mention first is how people seem to fall in either the team #intuition or the team #logic. But why do they have to be separate?
It’s OK to do your research, to find out more information and to go through some trial and error (experimentation).
Blending logic and practicalities with intuitive hits is a powerful way to operate.
Now onto the techniques.
Intuitive Technique #1 – What’s Obvious
This technique is about letting the obvious jump out at you. Because we overcomplicate life (a human fallacy), we tend to overlook the obvious. Your intuition is constantly putting what’s obvious in front of you, however, when the monkey mind is active, it’s too subtle & gets overlooked.
Coming back to ‘what’s obvious’ is an easy way to make a quick decision.
Here’s how you might use the technique:
- You have the items or a list of items in front of you
- Close your eyes, move into your centre & choose that what is true will jump out for you
- When ready, open your eyes & allow the item to jump into your focus first
- Take action in line with the item that jumped out.
Tips:
- Only do this once. Do NOT keep testing this over & over again to check if the same item shows up. If you treated your friend like that, they wouldn’t want to hang around you. Intuition is the same
- If you can only do it once, this means the set up is REALLY important. Take the time to move into your centre, surrender your thoughts/wants/needs and become neutral
- Allow the possibility that none might jump out. If this happens, you can assume that you choose none of those items
- Don’t do this if still heavily and emotionally invested in one item over another in the moment.
Suggested playful practice:
- Choose from 2 or 3 items on the shelf at the supermarket, before you start practicing with something more critical for your health.
Intuitive Technique #2 – Asking your heart/gut/body
This technique is about playing 20 questions, but letting your heart or gut or body answer in a form of yes/no/meh. You might hear a literal response or it may come as an energetic feeling, such as upliftment or expansion versus a heaviness or contraction.
This is similar to kinesiology type muscle monitoring, which is a type of biofeedback through the body muscles. However, you are listening/feeling for the response, instead of witnessing the answer.
Here’s how you might use the technique:
- You have something you want to ask or want direction about
- Form the question in a way that can be answered in a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ (or ‘meh’)
- Move into your centre & get into an active listening space – and then ask
- Listen to the reply
- Keep asking questions until you get clarity (or ideally, YES!)
- Take action in line with the direction indicated.
Tips:
- Listen UNDER the head voice, if your head voice is loud. The answer should be accompanied by a body/energetic response (either upliftment or downward energy, OR expansive/contracted)
- The responses can show up differently for each person, so playing & experimenting is important. The more you play, the more sensitised you’ll get
- ‘Meh’ is a neutral answer, which usually means it doesn’t matter either way. It can also indicate a level of disinterest or getting off-track from the true ‘yes’
- Don’t do this if still heavily and emotionally invested in the answer/outcome.
Suggested playful practice:
- Find out where you might go on the weekend (or next free time) by asking various yes/no questions, until you get a yes (or YES!), before you start practicing with something more critical for your health.
Intuitive Technique #3 – Leave it up to the universe (show me a sign)
This technique can be difficult but is a great confirmation. Difficult because of the surrender required by throwing out the confirmation request and then getting out of the way.
In a set period of time, the confirmation will be shown or not. It’s a beautiful process, in that what we need to be shown will be shown to us. However, can be easily interfered with, if you are unable to fully surrender and let go of it.
Here’s how you might use the technique:
- You have something you’re unsure about & are seeking confirmation
- Take a moment and move to your centre
- Then, request (preferably DEMAND) that the universe show a confirmation within a timeframe (ideally a couple of days to within the week)
- When you’ve made a clear demand, let it go & forget about it
- When/if a sign arrives (eg confirmation) within the established timeframe, recognise it & acknowledge it
- Take action in line with the confirmation (or lack thereof).
Tips:
- The answer can come via a sign, or the opportunity itself may also land in your lap (if it’s a confirmation)
- The sign can be anything – something on a shelf, a word spoken on the TV or a number plate you see in the parking lot. It will come with a moment of presence, as if to say – ‘here it is!’.
- Do not obsessively look for confirmation everywhere. It will confirm when you AREN’T looking for it, which is hard for those who want to stay in control or have the answer immediately. It is NOT a confirmation, if you are looking for signs in everything.
- This is the best technique to do if emotionally uncertain & confused.
Suggested playful practice:
- Ask the universe to show you confirmation on a new type of meal to eat during the week. Make sure to clarify what you want confirmation on.
Final tips
Here’s some final tips with these techniques & intuition in general:
- Following through – if you follow through on your intuitive hits, you’re training yourself to be more integrated with your intuition
- Don’t get into a habit of obsessively checking in & re-checking the answers. Set it up first to be emotionally clear & free of agendas
- Have techniques to neutralise any emotional charge. It is not enough to suppress the emotion – because otherwise it runs like static under the surface & interferes with clear connection to your intuition.
- Come from a learning orientation, rather than having to ‘get it right’ orientation
And the best tip of all: HAVE FUN!
I know it doesn’t make sense to have fun if dealing with a serious health choice, however, a light-hearted approach is going to give you better intuitive hits than an emotionally-charged approach.
Likewise, your health and vitality aren’t unleashed by serious, life/death attitudes… but instead, by light-hearted, playful and joyful approaches to life. Your life force is activated by willingness to live – and living as if life is working with you. Not against you.
So, invest in more playfulness & let intuition hold you towards a life of more vitality & health.
