In my honest opinion, people have a tendency not to go deep. It's like the deep is a scary, dark pool of water, which holds who knows what within. It takes such a conscious willingness to go there.

People tend to skim the surface, with many things.

Say with intuition – people new to intuition get the first hit and then that’s it. But because they don’t want to face the tension, the unveiling of that which is hidden, they don’t sink in deeper. The word intuition comes from Latin verb intueri which is usually translated as to look inside or to contemplate. People associate intuition to many different things – this may be a failing in the English language to be specific in its vocabulary.

I’ve heard many different phrases like:
  • Shopping intuitively
  • Intuitive eating
  • Act according to suspicion or intuition
These phrases imply more about doing things on a whim, rather than looking deeper.
