Everyone’s health is important.
Healing support is so vital – and in our current health care system, where health is supposedly ‘free’… healing support gets the pre-conceived notion of not being highly valuable.
And in that, I mean – many people don’t want to invest the time, money or energy in finding ongoing healing support.
Why that is could be many factors – such as giving self (& their health) low importance, an ideal of health as something to attain but never maintain, the idea of a miracle cure/fix, and just a general lack of understanding (& in that understanding comes not knowing what to do first).
There is also a stigma that seeing a healer must mean that there must be something really wrong with you. Like the misguided idea that you’d only see a marriage counsellor when your marriage is falling apart. Or you’d only work on your finances when you’re in debt.
And it’s time for us all to move on from an idea that you only see a healer when you’re sick (aka the problem solving approach), to a broader healing journey context to also include health creation when you’ve recovered from what ails you.
Health is the same. At no point do you actually stop investing at least time & energy into making that a reality. But it does get easier when you have good support in place.
And you’d think healers would know this best of all – but many don’t have this support in place for themselves. For the same various reasons as mentioned before.
And so, here are 5 reasons why we need healers. Why even healers need them.
Reason 1 – We’re human
We’re human, and you can forgive yourself for that.
With being human, comes the trappings of 3D reality and things going wrong. When you start discovering how remarkable our human body is, the multiple intricate workings in a sensitive and fragile balance – you’ll understand why at some point, there are so many opportunities for things to go wrong.
So, when you know things can go potentially wrong, then you need to look at self-maintenance. No well-functioning factory leaves out a preventative maintenance plan. In fact, there’s usually budget for both preventative maintenance and emergency maintenance.
In the old days of Chinese medicine – it was the rich in society that had a Chinese Medicine doctor (like a family acupuncturist). In fact, they paid their family doctor to maintain the family health. And that salary would stop if family members started getting sick.
Your health maintenance plan and support needs to take into your unique situation. The weak spots, the areas where things wear down faster (due to genetic inheritance, or regular habits and activity) and any unplanned emergencies along the way.
Reason 2 – You can’t possibly know it all yourself
Because the human body is such a complex artwork of intricate working parts, the ability to know and understand what to do with every square inch is next to impossible. Even as a healer yourself.
No matter how much you know, you can’t know it all. And you don’t have to.
This is good delegation at its finest.
That’s why you would call on healing support. Someone who can better understand the parts and areas that you don’t, and in turn, build up your knowledge about yourself further and find out what works for you.
Doing it alone is the hard way. And likely the slow way too. By finding someone else who can be the strength that fills in your weaknesses, you give yourself the opportunity to enhance your life ten-fold.
You just can’t figure it all out yourself.
On top of that, there are always new and innovative health modalities being formed. New technology being created. Better concepts of health. Life always has the opportunity to improve on itself, no new modality idea or health concept was formed in isolation – everything has ridden on past knowledge and discovery.
So, doing it alone is futile if you want make strides in your health. You can only take yourself so far, by yourself.
Reason 3 – You deserve it!
Do I need to explain more?
You deserve to be nurtured, cared for, and have someone who is wanting your health and well-being as much as you do.
You deserve to be here, have more energy, have more fun – and contribute your beautiful presence in only the way that you could. Plus have all the support to make that a reality.
Reason 4 – Every clue and thread will bring you closer to wholeness
Let’s face it, the health journey is a bit of a mystery.
With everything we know, with all the knowledge sharing available in the modern age – we still find many mysteries and puzzles along the way.
Each time you see a healer, you get presented with an opportunity. To see something differently, to understand yourself better, to experience something new outside your conscious waking self.
Each time, you have opportunity for a new clue – that will lead you on a path back to your wholeness. You get an opportunity to crack the health puzzle. This may not be from the healer, per se, but just your interaction with them. Just your intention to receive healing support by having a session can bring up so much in itself.
And you can only do that by taking functional action, and then opening up to the clues available around you.
A healer, who sees things differently, has different experience & knowledge, can provide a plethora of clues to help you on the journey.
By illuminating your consciousness, you have the potential to affect the collective. Even if it’s a small step, there is a point where we can hit a positive tipping point.
And if you’re a healer yourself, how much more would you serve your clients through the realisations brought through in your own healings?
Reason 5 – Support the healing industry
This reason seems strange, but I feel it’s a most valid reason.
It might seem strange, because it flips the whole idea of healing and getting better on its head. Each of us has a role to play, and a healer cannot fulfil their duty or purpose without clients who need them.
If no one saw a healer, then the industry would perish.
Like a bully cannot exist without a victim, a healer cannot exist without their clients.
It’s like the case of measles in the modern age. With the advent and use of the measles vaccine, came the reduction of measles in our modern society. But, nowadays, new doctors are lacking the proficiency and experience to deal with random measles cases, because they are no longer regularly exposed to clients with measles, like the previous generation of doctors.
Apart from the added effects of having better health, seeing a health practitioner supports the industry to continue to provide a service to others. Every client I have seen has built on my knowledge, exposed me to new experiences and unique cases – and most of all, made me question the validity of theories that I had adopted from reading books or learning in a classroom setting.
It’s all my past clients, successful AND unsuccessful, that I can thank for the creation and refinement of all my services. It’s only through working through them that I could have something that's tangible, useful and adds to the collective.
And if you’re a healer yourself, why wouldn’t you support your own industry?
Healing arts are kept alive by the people who invest in them. They exist for you & they exist because of you.
Finding a Healer
Finding a healer that you like and trust with your health can be an art in itself. Some people are clear who and what they want, others are indecisive and unclear.
If you are intending to bring in more healing support or changing how you do things, then I suggest the best course of action is to just try something. Even if it’s a mistake. Of course, be a little discerning too, so you don’t land in hot water.
In the long run, all your attempts for healing, whether successful or not, provide experience, clues and knowledge to help you make better choices in the future.
Act and reflect. Ask your heart and move in alignment with that.
The healing journey will be inherently mysterious and unclear along the way. That’s OK. The known is exactly that – where you are now. To go into a new experience, a new reality, you need to traverse into the unknown for a while. When you think about it, that’s a little exciting – it’s definitely enlivening.
Uncertainty and trepidation lie in the unknown, but so does the potential of the health you’d love.
So, take that step. Find the healing support you need and give yourself the opportunity to bring in more health for yourself. You deserve it.
